alexander mcqeen's final collection

Alexander McQueen's final collection was shown in Paris today and consisted of 15 stunning pieces that McQueen made before he took his life this past month.  For this collection he digitally captured Old Master paintings, Byzantine art and the carvings of Grinling Gibbons printing them on the fabric.  The fabrics are folded into swooping lines and poufs to form new shapes on the body.  The show was a solemn affair shown in the Pinault headquarters accompanied by haunting operatic music and ended with the words "each piece is unique, as was he."

  1. Stunning...so artistic - I especially like the 2
dresses that look blue and white in the second set down from the top...very imaginative and innovative. Such a waste of a productive life. Thanks for posting the gorgeous pics!
