british route signs

I know we have been seeing these vintage bus route signs popping up everywhere, but this is a great new take on them.   The British signs were originally printed on cloth and now thanks to British Route Sign Designs  by Home Economics in Oregon, you can find it upholstered on these chairs, benches, and pillows.  They also sell the fabric by the yard for your own diy.
I have similar chair to the metal ones shown above and removed the vinyl seats and replaced them with industrial felt cushions.  If you have seen the pics of my house you know that I love old graphic signs- this would have been another great option for my chairs.
I have been thinking of redoing our bedroom and a few of these would look great with the darker color scheme I have been debating.  Hmm.... now I just have to convince the husband.

  1. I love the look of these...very industrial and kind of 'Belgian' - they resemble the burlap cushions that are very in style as well...they would look great with a pop of color in the room too like pink or bright blue or maybe purple?

  2. I can't even begin to tell you how much I'm loving the pillows! I've been wanting one of those great subway signs...it looks so cool transferred to the pillows and furniture. Great find!!

  3. Very cool. Love the bold graphics and yet the simplicity of the design. Thanks for sharing. I think your blog is great!
