These incredible porcelain sculptures or "three dimensional wallpaper" are the work of artist Beth Katleman. I love that they look rather sweet on first glance-
but look closely below- the bridesmaid has been thrown in the pond.
Here the duck is falling off the piece as the little boy tries to keep his pants up.
I keep imagining a room with this wallpaper and a few of Katleman's pieces floating about.
They are inspired by 18th century French Toile de Jouy fabrics. Beth scours flea markets for castoffs and then casts them in porcelain. If you are in NYC the pieces are being shown at here until Feb. 17th.
