"As A rule I don't believe in rules" - so says designer Amanda Nisbet in her first book Dazzling Design. Right there she's got me hooked, that and of course her love of strong color.
Whether it's the pea green of her own study, bold hot pink Fauvist strokes in a wallpapered bedroom, or a deep almost black navy in a NYC apt. hall I love her take no prisoners approach to color.
Nisbett's designs are sophisticated, never fussy yet always visually interesting with a dash of fun and whimsy. "Mess with perfection" is one of her mantra's, believing that a perfect room is a lifeless one, she completly finishes a space, then adds an element that throws it off balance.
