I come across a lot of craft books and have even styled quite a few. I own too many to count but these days most of them sit gathering dust, since I never seem to have the time to get my craft on.
But Design Sponge editor Amy Azzarito's new book Past & Present is just the book to change all that.
I love that it is so much more then a craft book and gives a detailed yet readable description of various decorative arts movements followed by a project referencing that period, ranging from obelisks to Hollywood Regency. But wait, don't go getting sleepy on me - these are cool styling projects by among others: party design genius David Stark, the amazingly talented Canadian designers behind Bookhou, Erica Domesk of P.S. I Made This and Anthology founder Meg Matteo Ilasco.
