This heat makes me want to do nothing more then watch endless movies. Didn't have that much time but I did manage to catch two great movies - What Maize Knew with Julianne Moore and an incredible performance by 6 year old Onata Aprile. Based on the Henry James novel it tells the story of a supremely dysfunctional family as seen thru their daughters eyes. I also saw 20 Feet From Stardom, a documentary about the supremely talented backup singers behind so many songs that have so often been ignored.
Here's one to miss! I caught Ultrasuede: In Search of Halston. Halston was a truly gifted designer who deserves so much more then the lame line that has continued in his name and this movie. Mostly this movie serves to highlight the director and his need to try to get the gossip behind Halston and his crowd.
After cleaning out the 20 plus boxes of magazines I had stored I am trying to commit to reading more of them online. I recently tried out Next Issue and have been reading my favorites on my iPad. I'm not totally won over for all of my design magazines (yet) but definitely loving it for so many others. Try it out and let me know what you think.
Speaking of reading - Now that Google Reader is gone you can read me on BlogLovin.
Now if only I was off in a nest built for humans watching movies it would be the perfect day....
